How does pricing work?

Alteration and repair projects have fixed prices that have been set by our community. To see our full pricing list, please click here. Made-to-measure projects have custom pricing. When you book a made-to-measure project, your Maker will contact you to discuss the details and then set the cost. You can then decide if you would like to accept or reject the project.

How much is the service fee?

The Seam service fee is 20%. Booking your project through our platform means you receive a guaranteed level of service and also insurance on your clothes.

Where does The Seam operate?

Currently The Seam operates in London and very soon will be expanding across the UK.

How does payment work?

For alteration or repair services, you pay the full amount upon booking. We only release the payment to the Maker once they confirm your project has been completed.

For bespoke customisations and made to measure services, once you have discussed the details of your project with your Maker, they will set the price, at which point you can choose to accept or decline their offer. If you accept then payment is taken and held until the project is complete.

I just placed an order. What happens next?

Can I send items by post instead of drop-off?
