Meet the team...
Layla Sargent
FOUNDER & CEO
For most of her life Layla had her clothes altered and repaired by her nan, a professional dressmaker for over 60 years. After moving to London and living away from her nan, Layla quickly realised how difficult it was to find a local, trusted Maker with specialist skills to care for her clothes.
In 2019, Layla conceptualised and founded The Seam, merging the world of technology with London’s Maker network, with a vision of making clothes care & repair services accessible to everyone. Layla is excited to soon scale The Seam services to her hometown, Birmingham, so that she can get her nan signed-up as a Maker on the platform.
Lollo Waern
HEAD OF MAKERS
Lollo leads our vibrant Maker community, and is the first point of contact for new Makers on the platform. Her focus is on locating, recruiting and onboarding skilled Makers to The Seam.
Lollo moved to London from Sweden in 2012 to study fashion design, and after a 5 year detour in the hospitality industry, she completed a BA in Womenswear Design at London College of Fashion where she specialised in sustainable fashion design and zero waste pattern cutting.

PRODUCT DESIGNER
Sol is a product designer with Activate Studio. Her background lies in UI design and entrepreneurship. Sol moved from Argentina to London in 2020, after selling her own startup, seeking professional growth and new horizons. She is passionate about environmental issues and gender equality.
