Own and scale The Seam’s end-to-end operations, building the systems, team and infrastructure that enable profitable growth and international expansion.
 

About The Seam

The Seam is building the infrastructure for care & repair in fashion.

Through our platform, customers book repairs and alterations delivered by a distributed network of Makers across the UK. We partner with leading retailers including adidas, H&M Group and Primark to embed repair services directly into the customer journey — reducing returns, improving fit and extending the life of clothing.

Founded in London, The Seam is entering its next stage of growth and we are now looking for a Head of Operations to help scale the business.​

 

The Role

This is a senior leadership role responsible for building the systems and processes that enable The Seam to scale.

You will oversee our operational infrastructure — including logistics, service delivery, Maker network performance and retail partner rollouts — combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Working closely with the Founder, you will build the operational backbone of the company and lead a small but growing operations team.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Infrastructure

• Own end-to-end service delivery across both D2C and retail partnerships

• Improve operational efficiency, service quality and turnaround times

• Build systems and processes that support national and international scale

Logistics & Fulfilment

• Own and optimise The Seam’s logistics infrastructure

• Improve logistics efficiency and turnaround times

• Identify opportunities to enhance the customer journey while maintaining service quality

Performance & Unit Economics

• Monitor operational KPIs and use data to drive improvements

• Identify opportunities to improve gross margins and reduce cost leakage

• Roll out a planned new revenue stream

Leadership

• Lead and develop the operations team

• Work cross-functionally with product and marketing

• Contribute to overall company strategy and scaling plans

Within the first 12 months you will have:

• Strengthened operational systems and processes

• Improved service turnaround times and reliability

• Increased operational efficiency and margins

• Built scalable playbooks for launching in new markets

 

About You

You are an experienced operator who enjoys building systems and improving complex services.

You are comfortable working in fast-moving startup environments and enjoy taking ownership of real problems.

You likely have:

• 6+ years experience in operations, logistics or marketplace businesses

• Experience managing distributed or multi-location service networks

• A track record of improving operational efficiency and unit economics

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

• Comfort working with data and operational metrics

Bonus experience:

• Marketplace or logistics platforms

• Managing freelance or contractor networks

• Early-stage or high-growth startup environments
