1. General Restoration Disclaimer
Restoration is not a replacement for the original manufacturing process. It is intended to extend the longevity and usability of an item but is not a guaranteed permanent solution. Your item will undergo processes that differ from its original manufacture. As such, it will not retain its exact original finish, texture, or features. Colour, texture, and finish variations are normal and expected outcomes of restoration work.
2. Colour Matching & Appearance
-
Colour will be matched as closely as possible to the original.
-
Exact colour matching cannot be guaranteed.
-
Different lighting conditions (e.g. daylight vs electric lighting) will affect colour perception.
-
Digital images provided as references may vary from screen to screen and cannot be relied upon for exact colour accuracy.
-
Colour may appear flatter or less multi-toned after restoration.
-
Thread or stitching may require painting for a more even finish.
-
Brush strokes may be visible, particularly on smooth leather surfaces.
-
The overall finish may appear more matte or more glossy than the original.
3. Texture & Material Changes
-
The texture of leather, suede, or other materials may differ slightly from the original.
-
Items may feel less soft following restoration.
-
Vegetable-tanned leather naturally shows colour variation and staining; such marks may remain visible.
-
Suede texture may appear fluffier or flatter after cleaning or dyeing.
4. Dyeing Services (Shoes & Leather Goods)
-
Although the utmost care is taken, dye may bleed slightly onto soles or adjacent areas after dyeing.
-
Colour transfer may occur temporarily after dyeing.
-
Shoe dyeing results may vary depending on the original material and finish.
5. Cleaning Limitations
-
Cleaning may not remove all stains.
-
Certain stains (including but not limited to ink or pen marks) may bleed, spread, or become more visible after cleaning.
-
Some staining may be permanently set into the material.
6. Edgecoat & Structural Wear
-
Edgecoat may crack again in areas that naturally bend or move. There is no permanent solution for this in high-flex areas.
-
Leather may crack or peel after restoration in areas where the material naturally bends, folds, or flexes.
-
Wear-prone areas may deteriorate again over time due to normal use.
7. Acknowledgement of Natural Wear
By proceeding with restoration, you acknowledge:
-
Materials that bend, stretch, or flex will continue to do so.
-
Restoration cannot prevent future natural wear.
-
Results will vary depending on the item’s age, condition, and material composition.
